Everton are really finding their form under David Moyes with three wins from a possible four.

The Toffees have been able to climb above Tottenham Hotspur following their victory over Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.

Moyes has been demanding new signings during his recent press conferences, but the 60-year-old is getting a fine tune out of his current crop of players.

Everton stunned the Foxes as Abdoulaye Doucoure scored after just 10 seconds as he netted the fourth-fastest Premier League goal ever.

It was Beto who also put on a real show at Goodison Park with two goals in the opening 45 minutes as he made his first start since December.

However, there was another player making a return to the starting XI that really impressed on Merseyside.

Everton’s James Garner impresses in first start in 17 weeks

James Garner returned to Everton training a month ago but he has been slowly reintegrated into the action.

The midfielder may have been thrown back into the starting XI against Leicester due to Orel Mangala’s season-ending injury, but he certainly did not look rusty.

Speaking on Sky Sports, pundit Sue Smith was left wowed by the 23-year-old as he provided a stunning assist for Beto’s second goal.

“Brilliant! Beto again so cool and calm in front of goal today, but it all starts from James Garner who has been outstanding since he’s come back into the side,” she said.

“It’s a lovely through ball to Beto, and he takes it in his stride. He’s one-on-one with [Mads] Hermansenand just really calmly passes it past him.”

Garner did return to action last weekend in the victory against Brighton & Hove Albion with a 12 minute appearance.

Everton fans were devastated to see Garner injured earlier in the season, but they will be delighted to see him return in such fine form.

Garner’s Everton display vs Leicester City in numbers

Just hours after Everton agreed to sign Carlos Alcaraz on loan, Garner put in a sensational midfield showing.

Mangala has also impressed this season, so news of his season-ending injury will have come as a real concern to all around Goodison.

However, Garner’s display will have certainly eased any fears.

Alcaraz has now flown into England to complete his move to Everton but he will have to work for his spot in the starting XI after that performance from Garner.
