Everton manager David Moyes will be pushing harder than ever for more new faces to come through the doors.

The Toffees suffered their second defeat of the Summer Series on Wednesday evening against West Ham United.

Moyes has publicly urged Everton to secure more signings in recent days, whilst on tour in the United States.

Defeat against the Hammers saw Moyes double down on his demands, with the 62-year-old looking fairly concerned with the lack of business done on Merseyside.

James Tarkowski is convinced new Everton signings will arrive soon after potentially letting slip on Everton’s transfer plans.

However, there is one player who Everton are desperate to sign this summer, who has now been urged to join Manchester United.

Douglas Luiz told to snub Everton for Manchester United

It is now suggested that Everton are going all out to sign Douglas Luiz from Juventus, with Moyes keen to land the Brazilian.

Adding midfielders is high on the agenda on Merseyside, but there are plenty of Premier League clubs who are also in the race to sign him.

Speaking to Sky Sports, dart sensation Luke Littler has publicly urged Luiz to make a move to Old Trafford instead of the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

“For myself, I’ve said it for the past week, Douglas Luiz from Juventus. It would be a no-brainer,” said Littler.

“Whether you want him sitting or whether you want him attacking, he can do it all.”

Luiz has already approved a move to Everton, despite interest coming from the likes of Nottingham Forest.

With clubs like United urged to make a move, Moyes will be hoping to see Angus Kinnear strike an agreement sooner rather than later.

The Friedkins must satisfy David Moyes with deal for Luiz

Wednesday night’s loss against West Ham has really highlighted some of the issues at Everton during this summer’s window.

The 62-year-old is not sugarcoating the situation as he spoke very honestly in his press conference from Soldier Field.

“We wanted to have the players in a lot sooner, especially coming here [to the US], I knew we were going to be incredibly short,” he said.

Moyes is worried about Everton’s transfer business, but landing a player like Luiz, in the wake of the West Ham loss, would be a huge boost for the Scot.

Even landing Luiz would require Everton to do a lot more, but it would certainly be a statement of intent from the Friedkins in backing their manager.
