David Moyes unleashes scathing rant at trio over Michael Keane’s red card appeal decision

Everton have now been hit with the news that Michael Keane’s three-game ban will stand despite their appeal.

David Moyes is now going to be without his 32-year-old veteran defender for the next three games following his red card shown against Wolves.

Everyone around the club was left baffled by the decision to send Keane off for alleged violent conduct against Tolu Arokodare.

James Tarkowski claimed even Arokodare did not appeal for Keane to be sent off for the incident; he only wanted a free-kick.

However, despite Everton’s appeal, the ruling has stood and the Blues are going to be without the centre-back for the next three games.

Although it is a decision which Everton are going to have to swallow, Moyes has unleashed a scathing reaction to the verdict.

What David Moyes has said about Michael Keane’s red card appeal rejection

Speaking to Everton News, former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg agreed with Keane’s sending off going by the letter of the law.

The red card marked Keane’s first-ever sending off for ‘violent conduct’ showing the defender’s nature having played 460 games in his club career.

Why always Everton? 😡

It's almost unbelievable at this point!

During his press conference on Friday ahead of Sunderland, Moyes broke his silence on the decision.

“Hugely disappointed! Hugely surprised and probably more angry with the panel who chose that thought that was the case,” he said.

“There’s a panel that sits and does it and I have to question the three of them. I know who the three are and I’m absolutely amazed that in some way they didn’t overturn it.

The Scot was left absolutely livid and rightfully so as Everton are now going to be without yet another important player for the coming games.

Stephen Warnock disagreed with Moyes’ thoughts over the red card, but there will not be many out there who think Keane deserves a three-match suspension for that.

Moyes calls out Chris Kavanagh on VAR for Everton vs Wolves

It won’t surprise many Everton fans to hear that Chris Kavanagh was at the heart of the decision on Wednesday evening.

Tom Kirk is a young referee who was officiating one of his first Premier League games and he was let down by Kavanagh.

And boy did Moyes make sure everyone knew that during this press conference on the back of the decision from the panel.

Can you name the other three? 🤔

Still cannot believe Keane was sent of for this!

“I’m more embarrassed for whoever was on VAR. This was a young referee doing only his third or fourth game and VAR gave him a terrible decision,” Moyes added.

“VAR didn’t need to get involved in it. So, I’m more embarrassed for whoever was in charge of VAR.”

Everton fans will love this passion from Moyes, but it just goes to show how stretched his options have now become given the length he went to over the decision.
