After it seemed like Beto would be Everton’s striker moving forward, now his future is being considered.
Everton and David Moyes have a key decision to make this summer in the striking department.
After a lacklustre end to the season, it paints a clear picture that a prominent goalscorer is needed.

Beto was thought to be the saviour for the Scotsman, but in the last month, Moyes called for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to return.
This might have sent alarm bells to Beto, and he has the opportunity to leave the Toffees.

Leeds United want Everton striker Beto
With the 27-year-old finding his future now uncertain once again, Beto says he’s happy at Everton, potentially playing down any murmurs going about.
However, a very concrete rumour has risen to the surface as Leeds United want Beto.
This could allow Moyes to cash in for the Guinea-Bissau international after he’s shown signs of form, and potentially give Everton the chance to sign Liam Delap.
However, it’s so obvious a candidate is already ready and waiting for Moyes.

Everton can reignite interest in Wilfried Gnonto this summer
Beto, on his day, seems unplayable for Everton and showed that when he went on his brilliant goal-scoring run in February.
| Beto’s Premier League form in February | |
| Everton 4-0 Leicester | Goal x2 |
| Everton 2-2 Liverpool | Goal x1 |
| Crystal Palace 1-2 Everton | Goal x1 |
| Everton 2-2 Man United | Goal x1 |
But it seems as though the inconsistency of the striker is beginning to creep back in, and Moyes might know that himself.
So there is a possibility that with Leeds interested, the Toffees can strike a swap deal for a familiar name. Wilfried Gnonto.
Gnonto wanted to join Everton last summer, but seems to have got back in the good books of Leeds boss Daniel Farke.
However, with this deal now coming alive, it ticks a few boxes for Moyes.
One being, Championship talent joining Everton, a different profile to Beto and also, he already has the Premier League experience.
| Gnonto’s Premier League statistics in 2022/23 season | |
| Games played/started | 24/14 |
| Goals | 2 |
| Assists | 4 |
| Chances created | 22 |
| Tackles won % | 63% |
This shows that not only would Moyes be getting a striker in the 21-year-old, but another winger option for a smaller price could go a long way, and by doing this, it also incorporates Delap into the lineup.
Gnonto was rated at £25m, and was a top target for Sean Dyche, and with Beto joining the Toffees for £26m, the value comparison seems to work out in the deal.
This could certainly be an option that The Friedkin Group explore, as not only does it save money, but they’re adding a younger, more promising player to their ranks.
