Everton are one of the clubs that are viewing Manchester City’s Jack Grealish as a potential summer target.

David Moyes will now be keen to see new signings come through the doors on Merseyside, with the first month of the window almost over.

It has been a slow start to the summer for Everton, with the Toffees only bringing back Carlos Alcaraz on a permanent deal so far.

Everton are waiting for the new PSR window before they truly dive into the market, though.

But this leaves Angus Kinnear an even bigger task this summer, having made the move from Leeds United just a matter of weeks ago.

Grealish is a player on Everton’s radar, but it is a move which is expected to hold a number of obstacles for the Toffees to overcome.

Everton need to be patient with Jack Grealish interest

It is understood Grealish is settled in the north west of England, which could provide the Toffees with an advantage over a loan deal.

However, there are plenty of other obstacles standing in their way when it comes to Everton’s interest in Grealish.

According to BBC Sport, Everton are going to be forced to wait until late in the summer if they are to land the 29-year-old in a ‘very rich deal’.

A lot of clubs are interested in signing the City winger, and it is believed Grealish is now prioritising Champions League football.

The biggest issue which will stand in the way of most clubs is the huge salary Grealish is earning at the Etihad Stadium.

Everton cannot offer European football or cover the majority of his wages, so it is considered the Blues will need to wait until late in the window to potentially land Grealish.

Moyes is keen to sign a new winger, but it seems as if the 62-year-old will not be able to hang his hat on Grealish signing this summer.

Everton face uphill task to sign Grealish

Everton are prioritising attacking signings this summer having experienced a number of issues in front of goal.

But the Toffees are not in a position to wait around for an answer to come from Grealish as they have so many positions to fill.

Perhaps the only way Grealish can be viewed is as an opportunistic deal that could arise as a bonus in the final weeks of the window.

Which is a shame as Moyes will surely want to bring players in quickly so he can get them up to his level in pre-season.

From Grealish’s point of view, it is understandable that he wants the best possible move, but he should also be keen to get into a club early and get himself settled ahead of a huge season for him.
