Everton’s pursuit of a new striker is taking them far and wide with plenty of options available.

David Moyes will feel he simply needs another face through the doors at Finch Farm to bolster his numbers up front.

The issues at Everton are there for all to see with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hamstring injury on the weekend worrying the club.

Although there has been no official update given on the striker yet, it is apparent Moyes will only have Beto to select from this weekend.

There are other opportunities for the Toffees to explore with Everton keen to sign Hamza Igamane from Rangers.

However, another striker has become available who would provide Everton with some added Premier League experience.

Nottingham Forest will approve Taiwo Awoniyi move to Everton

It has been suggested Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi is of interest to Everton ahead of Monday’s deadline.

The Nigerian is just one of the options who Kevin Thelwell will be exploring with the clock ticking.

According to the Daily Mail, Forest would be open to selling Awoniyi before the deadline as they search for another striker themselves.

As is the case this month, West Ham are also claimed to hold an interest in the 27-year-old.

But the striker may be keen to make a move before the deadline after becoming Forest’s second choice due to Chris Wood’s impressive form.

The Athletic claim Nuno Espirito Santo still views Awoniyi as an ‘important’ player, but his game time has suffered this season.

With Moyes pushing for Everton to sign a forward, the Friedkins need to get hurry before the window shuts.

Awoniyi could be an Evan Ferguson alternative

Everton have shown their interest in Evan Ferguson with the Brighton & Hove Albion striker looking for a move.

However, there are plenty of clubs also in the race to sign the Ireland international.

Awoniyi’s list of suitors may not be as long as the 20-year-old’s with Ferguson offering a real prospect for the future of any club who may sign him.

But Awoniyi could offer a club like Everton with some experience to add to their squad depth.

The 27-year-old striker has, however, also had his fair share of injury issues, which may be a concern to the Toffees.
