Everton have learned whether they will be signing Hamza Igamane from Rangers.

The Friedkin Group are desperate to sign a new forward at Everton before the deadline on Monday with some real injury issues.

David Moyes’ options have been depleted since he made his sensational return to Merseyside.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has suffered a hamstring injury and the likes of Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti are also sidelined.

However, the new owners at Everton have been unable to seal any deals as of now with work going on in the background to get moving in the market.

One player who is of interest to Everton is Rangers striker Igamane and the Toffees have just learned of where his future lies.

Rangers striker Hamza Igamane will not join Everton

Philippe Clement has played down Igamane to Everton talk during his press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

Rangers are in Europa League action on Thursday night and are keen to keep their striker around.

According to journalist David Anderson, Igamane to Everton will not be happening before the deadline.

‘Not happening this window is Everton signing Rangers Hamza Igamane,’ said Anderson.

It had been suggested earlier in the week Everton were one step away from signing Igamane from Clement’s side.

Although a future move has not been ruled out, it seems the Scottish giants will be able to count on the 22-year-old for the remainder of the season.

Everton are looking to sign a striker before the deadline with other options on their radar.

But this will come as a major blow for the Toffees with time not on their side.

Everton need to turn their focus elsewhere quickly

Everton will now have to turn their attention to other options on the shortlist drawn up by Kevin Thelwell.

Evan Ferguson remains of interest to Everton, but the Toffees are going to come up against some seriously strong competition for his signature.

The issue for Everton now is they are coming up against the clock and will struggle to prise key strikers away from clubs who would need to replace them.

As a result, Everton’s interest in Taiwo Awoniyi is one which could have legs given he is not a first-choice option.
