Everton play for the first time on American soil this summer on Saturday evening against Premier League outfit AFC Bournemouth.

David Moyes has already selected three sides this pre-season with three friendlies already under his belt.

Ahead of the flight over to the United States, Everton played a behind-closed-doors friendly against Port Vale at the new stadium.

This saw Carlos Alcaraz score the first goal at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as he etched his name into Everton history.

However, Saturday evening in New Jersey is where the efforts will be ramped up a notch coming up against another Premier League side.

With new Everton signings few and far between for the 62-year-old, Moyes faces an interesting team selection at the MetLife Stadium.

Everton News has taken a look at how Moyes could field his side ahead of the game across the pond.

Thierno Barry could make his Everton debut

Everton fans will be out to see their new summer signing in Thierno Barry, who joined from Villarreal in a deal worth around £27m.

Barry only joined up with Everton this week. So, the Frenchman has not exactly had much time to settle in to life on Merseyside yet.

During training in America, Barry has been spotted wearing number 11, which was previously worn by Jack Harrison.

However, he could be thrown straight into the deep end by Moyes on Saturday evening to see how he fares against Premier League opposition.

Beto has impressed Moyes this summer in training, and the 27-year-old could well start ahead of Barry, but fans will surely want to see their new striker given some action.

David Moyes must nurse his defenders amid Jarrad Branthwaite’s injury

It was not the news Everton fans wanted to hear, but Jarrad Branthwaite has suffered an injury which has caused him to miss the USA tour.

It is believed the issue is only minor, but the club doctors did not want the defender to travel with the issue.

Jake O’Brien will be given his chance to shine at centre-back, but there will have to be some real caution as that position is already looking thin in depth.

There was some positive news this week, though. James Tarkowski was spotted in full Everton training, but this game may come too soon for him.

This only highlights the opportunity being handed to O’Brien this summer.

Mark Travers to keep Jordan Pickford out of the XI

Jordan Pickford is another Everton player who has only recently joined back up with the side following his delayed summer break.

The England number one will not see his spot as Everton’s first choice come under threat, but he may be eased back into the side this summer.

Games against West Ham and Manchester United are coming up next week, and Moyes may just decide to hand Mark Travers the starting spot against the Cherries.

The new signing made his debut against Blackburn Rovers last week, and Travers even impressed Rovers fans with one of his saves.
