Everton had the chance to sign Jesper Lindstrom permanently this summer, but David Moyes decided to let him go.
Everton enjoyed a busy summer transfer window as David Moyes added new faces to his squad.
Jack Grealish was the headline addition for Everton, but the Toffees also made investments for the future in Adam Aznou, Tyler Dibling and Thierno Barry.
Everton missed out on some signings, but also decided to turn down some potential incoming deals – including Jesper Lindstrom.

Jesper Lindstrom has played one minute since Everton snub
Everton pounced to sign Lindstrom on loan from Napoli in the summer of 2024.
The Dane had previously excelled with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, but he struggled at Napoli.
Lindstrom failed to register a single goal for Everton, and his flashes of quality just weren’t enough.
David Moyes decided to snub the chance to sign Lindstrom in an £18.5million permanent move, sending him back to Napoli in the process.
Lindstrom is now on loan at Wolfsburg, but has made just one appearance, which lasted only one minute.
Lindstrom missed the first two games of the season after groin surgery, which saw him miss the end of Everton’s 2024-25 season.
The winger returned for one minute off the bench against Koln in September, but is now on the sidelines again.
Lindstrom has suffered an adductor injury, and it’s unclear when he will be able to return to action.
Injuries were just one part of the problem for Lindstrom at Everton, but his lack of action this season suggests Moyes may have made the right call.

Everton will feel much happier out wide this season
Loanees Lindstrom and Jack Harrison both had moments of quality, but they certainly didn’t provide enough consistency.
Lindstrom failed to score a single goal last season, and Harrison didn’t fare much better, recording one goal and one assist.
Everton needed more production out wide, and Grealish has already provided that, racking up four assists in six games.
Dibling is a major talent for the future as well, so Everton certainly appear to have improved out wide after Moyes decided to move on from Lindstrom and Harrison.
