What a summer it has been at Everton, as with nine new faces through the door, David Moyes has the platform to achieve something special.

After a tiring three months for Moyes and The Friedkin Group, the 2025 transfer window has closed.

The aim was clear from the Everton owners, and that was to show ambition and strengthen the squad massively.

It’s safe to say this has been done, as after Moyes wanted nine players, his transfer wish has come true.

Looking at the Scotsman’s new arrivals, these are Everton.News’ ratings of the summer business out of ten.

Every 2025/26 summer window transfer graded at Everton

Carlos Alcaraz – 7.5

The first deal that opened the doors in the market was a familiar face, as Carlos Alcaraz put pen to paper on a £12.6 million deal after a four-month-long loan spell with the Toffees.

Straight away, the midfielder hit the ground running, scoring on his first start with the club, and it seems as though Evertonians took to him straight away, with fans calling Alcaraz a ‘game changer’.

Although it’s unlikely he’ll have a starting role this campaign, considering the fee paid, his solidity as a squad option and the South American grit he brings to the side, a seven-and-a-half rating seems fair for the Argentine.

Thierno Barry – 7.5

One of the more intriguing ones of this window was Everton’s £27.5 million transfer of Thierno Barry.

The promising 22-year-old looks to provide the Blues with a long-term option up front, as Beto looks to be the main man at Everton still.

Villarreal insiders said Everton overpaid for Barry, but early signs suggest the Frenchman could be a solid forward for the Blues, as Thierry Henry praised Barry’s strength, and with everything considered, seven point five is a safe grading.

Mark Travers – 6

Everton needed to restore players in the goalkeeping department, and they have done so with Bournemouth’s Mark Travers.

The 26-year-old is set to be the back-up, but Moyes wants Travers to compete with Jordan Pickford, and the Irishman showed in pre-season that he could be an option to be relied upon.

But it’s very unlikely Pickford will lose his place, and you can’t really give a higher rating than a six for a second-choice goalkeeper, but for £4 million, it’s a decent buy.

Adam Aznou – 7

The transfer strategy from the Blues this summer was to bring in younger options, as the squad was aging last season.

Adam Aznou perfectly aligns with this plan, as the 19-year-old is one for the future at left-back.

Everton fans have been impressed by Aznou, and after signing him for a solid £7.8 million, a seven rating seems just about right.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 9

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s £25 million move has the potential to be something special at Everton.

After it didn’t work out for the midfielder at Chelsea, Moyes has given him the keys, and the 26-year-old is already showing why he could be one of the signings of the summer.

The creativity of the former Leicester City star was desperately needed as Dewsbury-Hall is a ‘breath of fresh air’ and he’s got every chance to have a stunning season in Everton’s number ten position. 9/10.

Jack Grealish – 9.5

It’s clear what has been Moyes’ best piece of business this summer, and it’s Jack Grealish’s loan move from Man City.

There isn’t much more to say than this is a transfer masterclass from The Friedkins and Moyes, as after just three Premier League games, Grealish has four assists, and he is taking the league by storm early on in the season.

His performances have emulated his Aston Villa days, and he looks back to his best after a tough end to his tenure in Manchester.

Jamie Redknapp thinks Grealish is the most underrated signing, and this rating would be a ten, had it not been for the excessive £12 million loan fee, but so far it’s looking worth every penny. 9.5/10.

Tom King – 5

A signing that might have gone under the radar this season is third-choice goalkeeper Tom King, who joined from Wolves.

Again, like Travers, a back-up keeper doesn’t have too much hype around them, especially the third choice.

But the 30-year-old can bring experience, and King has the longest goal of all time, as it’s not every day you have a goal threat between the sticks.

Tyler Dibling – 8

Tyler Dibling’s arrival comes with plenty of promise, as the Southampton youngster burst onto the scene last season and was wanted by top Premier League clubs after a long transfer saga.

But it was the Toffees who managed to land him, as a £35 million fee, rising to £40 million, looks respectable for the winger, who is hoping to be the face of Everton’s future.

The 19-year-old will provide threat from the right wing, which the Blues have desperately been lacking, as Dibling has been compared to Paul Gascoigne, and judging by his potential and the figure paid, it’s a solid 8/10 transfer from Moyes and co.

Merlin Rohl – 7

After a topsy-turvy summer, The Friedkins ended their business with the services of exciting German midfielder Merlin Rohl.

Rohl, who joined on deadline day, has shown promise from his time at Bundesliga side Freiburg as he will provide a defensive mind in the middle of the park, but he’s also very versatile, which Moyes will love.

Taking into account his age of 23, already establishing himself in the German international set-up with the under-21s, and a solid £17 million fee, a 7/10 is suitable, but this could certainly rise, as Everton fans see Rohl as a ‘serious player’.

You have to say the Everton hierarchy have delivered, as Moyes is pleased with the transfer activity, but the failure in not signing a right-back is clear, and overall, an 8.5/10 window is respectable.
