The Friedkin Group may want to think about improving the Everton squad after another underwhelming performance against Aston Villa.
Everton fell to a 1-0 defeat on David Moyes’ return to Goodison Park as Moyes hindered to Farhad Moshiri’s failings costing Everton in what was a disappointing display.
This was no doubt a dig at the old board, but it also may be a message to The Friedkin Group about Everton’s current situation.
With the result and Moyes’ message, it may give a nudge to the new owners in investing quickly but smartly, which there have been no signs of just yet on the transfer front.
Pat Nevin agreed with the Moyes appointment which The Friedkins did well, but they let themselves down on another factor.

Jamie Carragher thinks The Friedkin Group ‘let themselves down’
It’s been a week now since the sacking of Sean Dyche as much has been made of The Friedkin’s decision to let him go.
The Everton players heard Dyche left during a meeting which was shown to already be poorly handled.
This was as well as the announcement of Dyche’s exit, with The Friedkins being compared to Moshiri in some sense.
Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast (23:39), Jamie Carragher, was under the perception Everton were a ‘classy’ club and believes it reflects badly on the new ownership.
“It was a risk with Dyche because the football would never be good but I must say Everton let themselves down with the statement,” Carragher said.
“I’ve always said there was never a great love for Dyche but there was always a respect there that he’d get the job done.
“I think Everton are a classy club, maybe it’s something to do with the ownership but I thought Dyche deserved better.”

Gary Neville questions The Friedkins approach to Dyche statement
The new owners don’t want to go down the same route as Moshiri, in losing the Everton fans’ faith completely.
Moyes is excited to work with The Friedkins and that should give Everton fans hope, as someone they trust believes in the owners.
However, Gary Neville who himself has had experience in ownership, believes it was a strange decision after not agreeing on how to handle the exit with Dyche.
He added after Carragher (24:33): “I can’t believe Everton wouldn’t have gone to Sean (Dyche) and said ‘We’ll do a statement we both approve on’, that would normally happen.
“The first thing I do when I sack a manager at Salford is, you will see the statement we will put out. I can’t believe Everton wouldn’t have done that.”
Moyes was disappointed to see Dyche go, and he may have slightly questioned how the situation was handled himself.
