Everton’s summer transfer market has consisted of battling Premier League rivals for their targets.
David Moyes has seen another addition to his squad completed with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall inking his deal from Chelsea.
Perhaps surprisingly, Everton did not face too much competition for Dewsbury-Hall from other Premier League clubs.
After securing the Englishman, Everton are closing in on Dion Lopy from Almeria, but there remain other targets on the radar.
Numerous departures in June have seen Moyes demand more Everton signings to bolster both the quality and depth of his squad.
However, the Blues have now seen their city rivals join the race to sign one of their more prominent targets.

Liverpool join Everton in race for Douglas Luiz
Despite the signing of Dewsbury-Hall, Everton remain interested in Douglas Luiz, who is set to depart Juventus.
It is believed Nottingham Forest are leading the race for Luiz, though.
According to Caught Offside, Liverpool have now unexpectedly thrown their hat in the ring to sign the former Aston Villa midfielder.
Everton’s city rivals are believed to be lurking in the background, considering a move for Luiz.
The report suggests Luiz and his representatives have already turned down an offer from Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
Luiz is desperate to return to the Premier League this summer after a frustrating year over in Turin with the Old Lady.
His frustrations surrounding his situation have even seen the Brazilian skip Juventus training earlier this summer.

Everton have faced transfer competition all summer
Right from the very start, Everton have seen Premier League clubs compete for players on their radar.
Chelsea beat Everton to Liam Delap in the opening days of the window; the striker may already be regretting his decision, though.
Although the league winners have reportedly entered the race to sign Luiz, it is Forest who are leading the way to secure his signature.
Everton have recently been in contact with Luiz and his representatives over a potential move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
But it looks as if Luiz could be set to make a £35m move to the City Ground.
