Everton look like a completely different team to what Sean Dyche left behind in January.
It has been some turnaround from Everton, who have been racking up the points in the Premier League to pull them away from danger.
This has been no easy ride for David Moyes, who’s had to deal with a number of injury issues since returning to Goodison Park.
Everton have been without Dominic Calvert-Lewin for weeks among a number of striker injuries up top.
But that has provided a number of Everton’s outcasts a big opportunity to prove their worth with Moyes having only recently come through the doors.
And there is one player, in particular, who has grasped this opportunity with both hands and transformed his fortunes on Merseyside.

Everton’s Beto nominated for PFA Player of the Month
Beto has been in sensational form for Everton since Calvert-Lewin picked up his injury against Brighton & Hove Albion.
With three of Everton’s four senior strikers sidelined through injury, Beto has been handed a lot of responsibility to lead the front line.
But the Portuguese striker has embraced the pressure and has just been nominated for the PFA’s Player of the Month award.
Manchester United were left rattled by Beto in their recent game at Goodison Park, as the striker found the back of the net again.
| Beto’s last five games | Goals |
|---|---|
| Leicester City | 2 |
| Liverpool | 1 |
| Crystal Palace | 1 |
| Manchester United | 1 |
| Brentford | 0 |
Beto has already surpassed Calvert-Lewin’s total for the campaign in significantly less game time.
But it has not been a tale without bumps in the road, as Beto looked set to join Torino in the January transfer window.
It seems as if everything has fallen into place for the striker, though, with injuries elsewhere providing him with a final opportunity at Everton.
Beto could have saved Sean Dyche’s Everton job
In the month and a half under Moyes, Beto has already played more Premier League minutes than he did under Dyche this season.
Beto impressed his teammates in Everton training during Dyche’s time at the club, but this did not translate into starts.
Instead, the striker was made to watch from the bench as Calvert-Lewin’s form failed to pick up.
Calvert-Lewin is set to see his contract expire at Everton over the coming weeks, with no real indication towards him inking a new deal.
But, during his absence, Beto has put in a real claim to be the number one striker leading forward.
And the 26-year-old’s current form must have Dyche looking on at Everton’s form wondering why he never have Beto the opportunity.
