Everton have had the best start to pre-season with a draw against Accrington Stanley and a defeat against Blackburn Rovers.
David Moyes clearly has a lot to do in the transfer market if Everton are to challenge for a spot in the top 10 next term.
James Garner believes the Toffees should finish in the top half, so if they’re to realise that aim, more incomings are needed.
Harrison Armstrong has been Everton’s only positive this pre-season as he’s come back from his six-month loan spell with Derby County full of confidence.
Now, there has just been a major update shared on Harrison Armstrong’s future.

Everton make Harrison Armstrong decision
Derby fans raved about Armstrong last season and were urging the club to re-sign him on another loan deal.
Moyes wanted to have a look at the 18-year-old midfielder in pre-season before deciding what’s next for his development.
Now, according to the Athletic, it’s being reported that Armstrong is ‘unlikely’ to be a regular under Moyes next season.
That outlet moots that another loan move could be on the horizon for the England youth international, so there could be movement on that front soon.
Sunderland and Burnley were both eyeing Armstrong earlier this year.
Armstrong exit depends on incomings
Of course, Everton will likely only sanction Armstrong’s exit once they have brought a new midfielder through the door at Finch Farm.
West Ham United’s Tomas Soucek is of serious interest to Moyes, and it has been reported that Everton submitted a £12m bid last week.
Alan Myers reported that Everton aren’t in talks to sign Douglas Luiz, so it seems Soucek is the only midfield target at this stage.
Freiburg’s Merlin Rohl has been on Moyes’ shortlist previously, so he could reemerge as an option.
Either way, for Armstrong, his potential forthcoming loan must be to a promotion-challenging Championship club.
That seems the natural next step for the talented teenager.
