Everton’s recent improved results could have been even better had the Toffees shown a bit more composure in attack.
Sean Dyche’s side have established themselves as one of the toughest to break down in the Premier League.
Pep Guardiola praised Everton’s defensive solidity prior to the meeting on Boxing Day at the Etihad Stadium.
That proved to be the case with City only able to find the back of the net once, but Everton were unable to capitalise on their late opportunities to win the game.

The Toffees have certainly had their issues going forward this season with only Southampton (11) having scored fewer than Everton (15) in the Premier League.
Ahead of Sunday’s game against Nottingham Forest, Dyche has admitted he has spoken to one of his players about showing more composure in front of goal.

Sean Dyche has held private talks with Everton’s Jack Harrison
Coming into the season, Jack Harrison set himself a double-figure goals return target, which is seriously backfiring on him.
The Leeds United loanee is yet to find the back of the net this season and has not even provided an assist.
Speaking after the game on Boxing Day, Dyche told the media a conversation has been held with Harrison about his confidence in front of goal.
“Jack’s worked tirelessly. He’s a fantastic trainer, he’s good in the group, an immaculate professional,” said Dyche.
“He does so much work, his tactical understanding is excellent and as you said, having that belief now and again to just find that final moment.
‘We’ve spoken to him about it because he’s got real quality with either foot, just finding that tiny little moment that’s so important.”
Despite what has been a seriously underwhelming campaign, Everton are not planning on sending Harrison back to Leeds.
The winger has until the end of the campaign remaining on his loan and has been used regularly by Dyche.

Harrison missed huge change to beat Man City
Everton fans criticised Harrison after the Chelsea draw where he squandered a golden opportunity to score.
The 28-year-old suffered a similar miss on Boxing Day against his former side as Everton broke late in the game and caught City on the counter attack.
Considering Harrison is playing for his future on Merseyside during another loan deal, it is chances like this which the winger simply has to take.
Jamie Carragher admitted he felt sorry for Harrison earlier in the season, but he has not done himself any favours in recent weeks.
