Middlesbrough sources have insisted Everton are yet to make an official offer for Hayden Hackney.

Everton are one of many clubs showing an interest in the Middlesbrough midfielder this summer.

There is an understanding that Hackney is keen to join Everton following talks between the club and his camp recently.

How would you feel about Hayden Hackney becoming Everton’s first signing? 🤩

However, Boro are insisting that the Blues are yet to place an official bid for Hackney up to now.

Everton yet to make official Hayden Hackney offer to Middlesbrough

Hackney is currently away on holiday having been presented Everton’s proposal by Angus Kinnear and the recruitment team.

There is an expectation that his future could quickly be resolved once he returns from his short break away.

A report from The Northern Echo has, however, shared Boro’s stance, with no official bid being sent their way just yet.

If you were Angus Kinnear who would you be going all out for this summer? 💰

The recent suggestion that Everton could land Hackney for just £10m has also been described as ‘laughable’ by those on Teesside.

Although contact has been made at a lower level, senior officials at the Riverside Stadium await an official approach from the Toffees.

Clearly, there is a desire from the player to make the move to Everton this summer.

Boro would be open to keeping Hackney for the final year of his deal, but they may have lost their power over the midfielder after their play-off final defeat.

With the midfielder currently enjoying some rest following a hectic season, this is certainly one to keep an eye on when he returns to the country.

The main positive for the Blues is that Hackney appears set on making the move to Merseyside.
