Everton fans will be hoping to see the club’s proposed takeover pushed over the line over the coming months.

On the pitch, Sean Dyche’s side are leaving a lot to be desired with Everton losing to Southampton on the weekend.

However, there is plenty to look forward to on Merseyside for the Toffees with a new stadium almost complete to be moved into next season.

The Friedkin Group are closing in on a takeover at Everton with Farhad Moshiri’s end at Goodison Park finally looking likely.

But there are some concerns surrounding the potential new owners on Merseyside with Simon Jordan relaying one of them, specifically.

Simon Jordan questions The Friedkin Group’s Everton takeover

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Jordan has questioned whether The Friedkin Group will favour Roma or Everton as they look to expand their club portfolio.

“Well, they bought the debt, and so they’re in the game, and they’re seriously, significantly well-funded. I mean, my friend George Downing, who put a lot of money into Everton, you know, knows the Friedkin’s, he knows Dan Friedkin because he knows ultimately got his money paid back by him,” said Jordan.

“So the bottom line is, is that is that these guys are, as Daniele [Fisichella] suggests, they have serious money. But then so did Moshiri or Usmanov whoever’s money it was, yeah, it’s not about what money you’ve got, it’s about how you deploy it.

“And it’ll be interesting to see what they do with Everton, because it hasn’t been an unprecedented success at Roma. It’s been a battle for them and a challenge for them.

“And it’ll be interesting to see if they divest themselves of Roma in preference to Everton or they continue on this well-trodden path that seems to be ridiculous, in my mind, about multi club ownership because it brings competitive jeopardy into the equation.”

This comes after Fisichella claimed The Friedkin Group are looking to sell 30 per cent of their Roma shares as they look to get a real handle on Everton.

Sean Dyche shared Everton takeover latest

With a potential takeover on the cards at Goodison, The Friedkin Group could look to replace Dyche with a manager of their choice.

However, Everton fans haven’t been impressed with The Friedkin Group eyeing Frank Lampard for Roma’s managerial role.

Ahead of the weekend’s loss on the south coast, Dyche did provide the latest on the potential takeover at Everton.

“Same as it was last week and the week before that,” said Dyche when asked on the takeover latest.

“No it’s just the same as it is and we’re just waiting for things to take place if they’re going to.”

A big couple of months await the Blues but they seemingly still have a lot to prove when they expectedly land on Merseyside.
