Everton are keen to add Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo over the coming weeks.
David Moyes will be desperate to see any attacking additions land on Merseyside this summer, in addition to Thierno Barry.
The Friedkins have handed Everton £100m to spend this summer, and the Blues are prioritising attacking additions.
It is promising to be a summer of change at Everton, but it has not exactly been an electric start to the summer window.
Everton have an interest in signing Kubo from Real Sociedad, with the Japan international’s future looking uncertain in Spain.
A fresh update from Fabrizio Romano has now provided the Blues with some information fans may not want to hear, though.

Napoli set to battle Everton for Takefusa Kubo
A lot of Everton fans would like to see Kubo signed this summer, with many feeling that it would be a real statement of intent.
Naturally, a player of his calibre is receiving plenty of interest from other interested parties.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Serie A champions Napoli are one of those clubs who are keen on the 24-year-old.
This comes as the Italian journalist has claimed Antonio Conte’s side are considering a move for Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling.
But Napoli are assessing their options with Kubo on their radar alongside Dan Ndoye.
Kubo would become Everton’s first-ever Japanese signing in a deal that would be recognised across Europe.
As it has been the case all summer, Everton are going to face a real battle if they are to get their man.

Signing Kubo would be a huge statement from the Friedkins
The Friedkins want to make a statement signing ahead of the move to the new stadium.
Early in the window, there was a suggestion that the player could be Richarlison, with his Tottenham Hotspur future in doubt.
However, Kubo is someone who would surely see Everton’s transfer activity applauded across the Premier League.
Carlo Ancelotti has praised Kubo massively from his time at Real Madrid, and he would arrive with vast experience at such a young age.
This is a signing which could elevate Everton forward.
