Everton could be set for a very busy final week of the January transfer window.

Everton have looked at a number of targets, but CEO Angus Kinnear has explained that the opportunity must be right for the club.

“We will work towards identifying and executing opportunities that will make us stronger in the long term,” Kinnear said last month.

That said, the Toffees are looking at Harry Wilson and Al-Nassr’s Wesley Gassova has emerged as a target for David Moyes in the last 24 hours.

Do we really need a winger over a full-back or striker? 🤔

There could also be some outgoings before deadline day on February 3rd, and these are the two most likely first-teamers to depart.

Beto may have played his last Everton game

Beto has fallen out of favour this season, with David Moyes making Thierno Barry his first-choice number nine.

As such, Alan Myers expects Everton to listen to offers for Beto, and the towering forward has been linked to multiple clubs on the continent.

Beto was in talks to join Fenerbahce, but the Turkish giants were put off by Everton’s lofty £17m asking price.

Juventus tried to sign Beto on loan but failed in their attempts. There could be more movement in the final few days of the window as the Toffees may soften their stance and allow him to depart on loan if a replacement is found.

Myers thought Beto looked like a player who’d already played his final game at the weekend, so it’s certainly one to watch.

Harrison Armstrong could return to Preston

Everton recalled Harrison Armstrong from his loan spell at Preston earlier this month, as Moyes needed cover for Idrissa Gana Gueye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Armstrong has really impressed, but he struggled a bit against Leeds United and was taken off at half-time.

With Gueye now back from AFCON, Armstrong may be sent back to Preston for the remainder of the season, as that was always Moyes’ preference.

Preston boss Paul Heckingbottom is expecting Armstrong to return before the end of the window.

“Yeah, at the minute, we are all expecting him to come back yeah,” Heckingbottom said last week.
