Everton are now winless in their last five Premier League games.

The Toffees fell to a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on the weekend which followed a 2-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest at the back end of 2024.

Everton have won just one of their last 11 league games and reside dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Sean Dyche’s men sit just two points above 18th-placed Ipswich Town, who have picked up themselves lately.

Everton fans were furious at Dyche’s comments after the Bournemouth game as he insisted his side weren’t on a bad run of form.

That’s led many to call for his sack once again and with that said, there’s just been an update on his future at Goodison Park.

Sean Dyche set to stay at Everton until CEO appointed

Dyche’s future has been up in the air over the last few months especially with the Friedkin Group completing their takeover.

Sergio Conceicao was believed to be Friedkin’s number one target to replace Dyche but that has not transpired. In fact, he’s now been pinched by AC Milan.

According to Paul Brown, Dyche is set to get more time as a decision on his future won’t be made until the club appoint a new CEO.

Kevin Thelwell’s future still needs to be sorted first, too, as he is out of contract in the summer, so the American investors have other priorities to address before Dyche.

Dyche looks like he’ll see out his contract

As it stands, it very much looks like Dyche will see out his contract, which expires at the end of the season.

We exclusively reported that the Friedkin’s want to appoint Dyche’s long-term successor when the season has finished.

If things get worse, though, they won’t hesitate to make a change mid-season, with David Moyes the preferred candidate to take over on an interim basis.

A telling few weeks lie ahead on Merseyside.
