Southampton eyeing Tyler Dibling replacement amid Everton interest

Moyes has wanted Everton to sign a new winger for a number of months now, and it finally looks as if he is about to get his wish.

Everton have had Dibling on their radar for a while, but there have been some other options on their list.

According to journalist Diego Otero, Southampton have now made an offer to sign winger Carlos Vicente from Alaves.

The Saints are not alone in their interest, with Krasnodar and Olympiacos also proposing their offers for the winger.

But this will be viewed as a positive sign from the Toffees, as it appears the Saints are in the market to sign a new winger.

Everton fans want to see Dibling signed after the Blues lost both Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom at the end of their loan deals.

Dibling would certainly mark an exciting addition, and it would be a statement from Everton if they can beat big competition to the young prospect.

What David Moyes said about signing new attackers

Moyes has demanded nine new Everton signings from the owners whilst away on pre-season tour in the States.

The 62-year-old has not shied away from saying it how he feels it is over the last few days.

The curtain raiser against Leeds United is quickly coming up for Everton, and Moyes clearly does not feel the squad is ready.

“We’re not ready to perform well enough in this tournament. We’re not ready to start the Premier League season,” said Moyes on Wednesday evening.

“I’m not overly concerned [by the results] because I don’t have the players which I need and what I want. And obviously, we’re up against it right from the start. We knew before we came [to the US] we were going to be really up against it. So, it was never going to be us coming here and winning [games].

“I think our attacking play at the moment has been really poor. I think we haven’t created enough chances.”
