Everton were unable to land Ben Chilwell over the winter market to bolster their options at left-back.
There was one piece of transfer business done by Everton in the signing of Carlos Alcaraz which was announced after the deadline.
But the Friedkins wanted to sign two players for their new club over the winter window.
Everton are nursing a number of injury issues with David Moyes hoping his side does not suffer any more now the window is shut.
At left-back, that is where Everton are perhaps at their weakest given Vitaliy Mykolenko is their only senior option.
Chilwell offered clubs an experienced option to bring in over the winter, but the Toffees were unable to secure a deal.

Ben Chilwell snubbed Everton for Crystal Palace
Everton had a real interest in signing Chilwell over the last few weeks with his time at Chelsea coming to an end.
However, the Englishman decided to remain in London as he signed for Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day.
Speaking to the Palace media team, the 28-year-old shared the thinking behind his move to the south London side.
“I’m very excited to be here. Crystal Palace are a club that’s going in a great direction,” said Chilwell.
“You look at the last few months, with the results and how the team’s playing, and it was a no-brainer to make the decision to come here.”
Crystal Palace have signed Chilwell on loan until the remainder of the season.
It was even suggested Chilwell would have been open to joining Everton, but the lure of remaining in London may have also proven a big factor for the defender.
Armando Broja’s loan really hindered Everton in the transfer market
Everton were unable to pull off any loan deals involving players from other Premier League clubs, with their quota already full.
Chelsea and Everton discussed cancelling Armando Broja’s loan but a resolution could not be found.
Allowing Broja to return to Stamford Bridge could have really opened up some foors for Everton on the final day of the window.
However, there is now the hope Broja could return from injury in a matter of weeks, providing Moyes with some further attacking options.
But the Albania international is yet to show Everton fans much as he has been unable to remain fit.
A lot of pressure is mounting for the striker to prove his worth given Everton stuck with him during the winter window.
