When Everton could sign Youssef En-Nesyri becomes much clearer after recent development

Everton fans have been made to wait over two weeks before any January action has kicked into life in the market.

The transfer window promised a big opportunity for Everton to fix some of the holes in their squad, but it has been far from that in the opening weeks.

It does not take a football genius to work out where David Moyes’ squad is lacking following the opening 21 games of the Premier League term.

However, the 62-year-old still finds himself waiting on the first arrival of January over two weeks since the market opened for business.

Reports are now suggesting that Everton have submitted an offer to sign Youssef En-Nesyri from Fenerbahce on an initial loan basis.

With talks believed to be ongoing between the two clubs, a potential date for his transfer has now come to the surface following a development on Wednesday evening.

When Everton could sign Youssef En-Nesyri from Fenerbahce

It may not be a straightforward move for the Blues as Everton News columnist Alan Myers shares En-Nesyri concerns from Turkey.

There is a suggestion that the striker is settled in Turkey and may not be completely sold on the potential move to England.

However, a potential date for the striker’s proposed move to Merseyside became a lot clearer on Wednesday evening.

How big of a risk is this for Everton? 😫

Morocco, En-Nesyri’s national side, secured their spot in the Africa Cup of Nations final against Senegal.

Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye are expected back next week at Finch Farm as they are also set to feature in the final.

Therefore, no transfer will be expected to be completed over the coming days ahead of what will be a huge day for En-Nesyri on Sunday.

Interestingly, Everton are also interested in Callum Wilson, who could theoretically be signed before En-Nesyri due to his current circumstances.

En-Nesyri scored the winning penalty for Morocco

In the second semi-final on Wednesday, Morocco took Nigeria all the way to penalties before securing their spot in the final.

Ironically, on the back of Everton’s dreadful shootout against Sunderland, it was En-Nesyri who booked Morocco’s place in the final with his penalty.

Surely any hungry striker would leap at the chance to play in the Premier League? 🫣

Beto saw his penalty saved against Sunderland as both of Everton’s strikers saw their efforts denied.

Everton need goals and they need them fast, with a tough challenge ahead of the Blues this weekend away to Aston Villa.

If En-Nesyri is going to land on Merseyside, then he will not be making the move until next week at the very earliest.
