The clock is ticking on Everton to get going in the January transfer window with clear improvements needed on Merseyside.
Despite coming into the New Year with a depleted squad, Everton have looked not looked rushed in the opening two weeks of the market.
David Moyes has seen his squad whittled right down to the bare bones over recent weeks, which has certainly cost the Blues on the pitch.
Everton have slipped down the table and now find themselves out of both domestic cup competitions.
In a recent press conference, Moyes even shared concerns about Everton not signing any player before the window shuts.
That would be unacceptable for most fans on Merseyside, but an update from the market may now even mean Everton could move on one of their players this month.

Everton exit for Beto could be back on the cards
Everton are open to allowing Beto to depart this month, but the Blues will need to bring in a new striker to replace the 27-year-old.
It has been a rough season for the striker, with just two goals to his name across his 21 appearances this term.
According to reports, Everton are in talks over signing Youssef En-Nesyri from Fenerbahce, with the Turkish side open to a sale.
How big of a risk is this for Everton? 😫
Scoring goals in Turkey is completely different to the Premier League…
The demand for additional goals has been made so clear since neither Thierno Barry nor Beto have been able to provide a consistent return.
It would have been impossible for Everton to offload Beto and potentially leave themselves with just one striker for the remainder of the season.
Now that talks are underway for the signing of En-Nesyri, it could well open the door again for Beto to potentially depart.
Ironically, reports have suggested that Beto has been offered to Fenerbahce this month prior to the links with En-Nesyri.
Everton could pull off En-Nesyri and Beto swap deal
To no surprise, Moyes has been frustrated with Beto following his poor form in front of goal this season.
The 27-year-old was able to find his shooting boots following Moyes’ return to Merseyside last season, but looks a shadow of that player now.
How much could Everton realistically get for Beto in January? 😬
Or should he even be starting ahead of Thierno Barry?
A fresh start may be best for all parties and Everton pulling off a swap deal for En-Nesyri could prove a masterclass from the board.
It was suggested that Everton were not prioritising a striker, with the full-back areas also in need of an upgrade.
However, this could be an opportunity that proves just too good for Everton, especially if they are able to pull off some sort of swap deal.
