Everton have suddenly burst into life in the transfer market with two deals being worked on.

Just hours on from David Moyes demanding nine signings this summer, the Toffees look set to close in on signing number four and five.

The reality is Everton need a lot of work in this summer window, following their numerous departures in June.

Everton are in talks to sign Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich in a deal which would be worth in the region of £7.8m.

But that is not the only deal, as Everton are discussing a deal for Malick Fofana with Lyon.

As these deals rumble on in the background, Everton’s CEO, Angus Kinnear, has provided an update from the United States.

Angus Kinnear shares exciting Everton transfer update

When he landed on Merseyside, Kinnear admitted there was so much work needed to be done behind the scenes at Everton.

An unprecedented summer lay ahead for the Blues who are undergoing major changes under The Friedkin Group.

Weeks on from his opening interview, Kinnear has spoken once again, this time from New York, about Everton’s summer so far.

“I know that fans always get frustrated by the speed of business in the transfer window. We would like to do the business early, and we would have ideally liked to get the business done so the team can integrate and train together,” he said.

“But it is more important that we get the right players. That’s why the majority of the business gets done towards the backend of the window. We’re well on track, we’re pleased with the business we’ve done, and the process is solid.”

“Still lots of work to be done, still lots of encouraging conversations, and I’ve always said we want to be judged on September 2 with the business we’ve done. I’m sure by then we’ll be in a really good position.”

More players could follow, as Moyes has requested Douglas Luiz to the Everton recruitment staff.

Everton fans will surely agree with Kinnear’s sentiment in preferring to wait for the right signings, instead of rushing signings for the sake of it.

Everton must get some players in to settle under David Moyes

Although that sentiment may well be true, it is still important Everton get some deals done sooner rather than later.

The Friedkins could create more PSR headroom if needed on the back of a letter sent to some of the Everton shareholders this week.

What is interesting, though, is Kinnear is clearly working in the background with the speculation surrounding Aznou and Fofana coming very much out of the blue.

Everton fans will want signings made quickly, but it would seem the new CEO is pleased with how the summer is panning out on Merseyside.
