Everton manager David Moyes is pushing for more signings whilst he is over in the United States for their pre-season tour.
Moyes has only seen three signings made this summer at Everton and Carlos Alcaraz counts as one of them.
It has been a slow start to the market, and Moyes has publicly demanded nine signings before the end of the window in September.
The Toffees have three games to play whilst they are over in the United States, and then they face their first open friendly at the Hill Dickinson Stadium against Roma.
There is still plenty of time to make signings, but the 62-year-old manager has a lot of holes that need fixing in his squad.
Moyes is demanding a new full-back and there has now been some encouraging news.

Adam Aznou submits transfer request amid Everton interest
Everton have shown an interest in Adam Aznou, who is currently playing his football at Bayern Munich.
However, he spent the second half of last season out on loan in Spain, and it is believed Aznou is open to a transfer this summer.
That appears to have now been made official as BILD report the left-back to have now submitted a transfer request.
It is claimed the defender does not believe he has a future in Munich, with a concern over the minutes he could get from the start.
The Bayern Munich CEO has hailed Aznou’s talent. So, it will be interesting to see whether Bayern are open to allowing him to leave.
With a player of Alphonso Davies’ talent ahead of him, it will be difficult for Aznou to be guaranteed regular minutes.
Everton must act fast and get Aznou on board
Jarrad Branthwaite has already suffered an injury issue this summer, which is putting Everton’s defensive options to the test.
Vitaliy Mykolenko cannot afford to get injured as he has no senior replacement at Everton.
Aznou’s desire to move on this summer should be a real message to Everton to get this deal over the line and get Aznou over to the United States.
The tour does not end until next weekend, which means Angus Kinnear has time to get the player joined up for the remaining games of the tour.
But Everton have not exactly been electric in the market so far this summer.
