David Moyes must make these four signings at Everton after urgent transfer plea

Everton must spring into action this transfer window after a slow start.

David Moyes of all people will know this as so far the signings of Carlos Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, and Mark Travers aren’t enough for what The Friedkin Group need to achieve.

A £100m budget has been predicted for Everton, and Moyes needs to start landing the key areas of his squad.

This is seemingly everywhere as Moyes has demanded 4-6 more signings with clear improvements needed.

Taking into account only four get signed, which Everton fans are worried about, these four positions and player options will be perfect.

Four positions David Moyes must sign at Everton

Right-back

A position that has raised concern now for a few years is Everton’s right-back.

Ashley Young played at times last season, but it was Jake O’Brien who really took on the reins of the position but O’Brien has been promised centre-back, and with Moyes also not trusting Nathan Patterson, it’s clear this position needs to be filled.

After Everton missed out on Kenny Tete, Panathinaikos’ Georgios Vagiannidis is on Everton’s radar, and the 23-year-old Greek is looking to be the most likely candidate for the role and has impressed across Europe for the Greek side, both from an attacking point of view and defensively.

Left-back

Another defensive option, but one that will be needed if the Toffees are going to succeed next campaign.

Vitaliy Mykolenko has been a stalwart in this position for the last three seasons, but he needs support behind him as Mykolenko struggles to handle the pressure at Everton.

Along with this, Young’s departure means there isn’t another alternative who can really play there, especially one without a left-foot, and Moyes could look to sign Sergio Reguilon who is available for a free transfer, and comes with plenty of Premier League experience.

Central midfielder

There is a standout position in this squad which is crying out for a top player to fill the void as Idrissa Gana Gueye needs a partner.

Although James Garner is available, fans aren’t convinced by Garner, and alongside Gueye’s defensive role, Everton need someone who is the perfect all-rounder, and The Friedkins should be all over Douglas Luiz.

Luiz wants a Premier League return and it’s become clear that Everton are ready to offer for Luiz, in a deal which could look to be around the £30m mark for Everton, an absolute bargain but also the perfect piece to Moyes’ puzzle.

Right winger

Probably the most obvious absence in the squad is a right winger, as Jack Harrison could return to Everton.

But everyone surrounding the club knows Moyes will want so much more of a threat from that right side then the former Toffees loanee, as the Scotsman knows he needs someone to complement Barry nicely.

There is one clear option, as Timothy Weah can be signed for £20m from Juventus, as the USA international will be a hard-working option, who is also versatile and has a frightening strike on him.

Weah’s squad number is waiting at Everton but other options are out there and Moyes won’t want to double down on anyone just yet, but it’s clear signings need to start coming through the door frequently.
