Everton are still yet to make their first signing this winter transfer window.

David Moyes remains desperate to improve his squad despite back-to-back wins which has lifted Everton well clear of relegation danger.

Injuries to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja has forced The Toffees into action and it’s understood Evan Ferguson could make a switch to Goodison Park.

They’re battling with West Ham United to sign the promising young Republic of Ireland centre-forward and a permanent move has been mooted.

Everton have also been linked to Hamza Igamane, though, it recently came to light that the club have no interest in the Rangers frontman and are focusing on other targets.

Toffees fans have now been reacting to those rumours and they think they know the real reason as to why the club won’t be signing Igamane this month.

Everton fans think the club can’t afford Hamza Igamane

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), many Everton fans are certain that the club have distanced themselves from Igamane due to the finances it’d cost to sign him, rather than because they prefer other targets.

Replying to the post above, @mah88312221 said: “Translated they won’t pay the fee Rangers are asking for.”

“Couldn’t afford him more like,” @83boabobski added.

@StruthWilliam added: “Everton can’t afford Igamane. Fixed it for you.”

“Translation: we have no plan B,” @keith_giles joked.

Rangers fan @_KyleRC_ wasn’t surprised at the news: “Didn’t think they could afford him tbf. Especially when given a £33.5m budget on 2 attackers.”

Another Gers fan thought he was too good for the Toffees: “I actually don’t mind Everton. However, he’s too good for them.”

Everton could turn to Patson Daka

As well as Ferguson, Everton are also thought to be eyeing Patson Daka.

Leicester City are willing to listen to offers for Daka as they have PSR issues of their own looming over the King Power stadium.

The £22m forward is behind Jamie Vardy in the pecking order and would likely be open to a move to Merseyside to get regular playing time.

However, the Friedkin’s want to ensure any investments this month benefit the long-term future of the football club.

They don’t want stop gaps for the injured Calvert-Lewin.
