Former Everton player could now play major role in Beto’s future after £13m development

Everton are running out of time to get any January business over the line before the deadline on Monday.

Having watched most of the transfer window pass them by, there is a feeling that it could be a quiet end to the month for Everton.

It is a shame for David Moyes given the opportunities there for the Blues this season in what is a congested Premier League table.

There has been a suggestion that Everton are still making calls to sign a right-back before the window shuts.

However, it is up top where there have been some major concerns this season, with goals largely coming at a premium.

With movement mooted up top, it is one former Everton striker who could now play a role over the future of Beto.

How Youssef Chermiti could decide Beto’s future at Everton

Earlier in the month, Youssef Chermiti netted a brace for Rangers against Celtic in the biggest game of their season.

Despite his struggles in Glasgow, it seems as if that display at Celtic Park may well have caught the eye of clubs across Europe.

According to journalist Chris Jack, Rangers have just turned down a £13m offer from Fenerbahce for the striker.

Despite a profit being on offer to the Scottish giants, it is claimed that Chermiti is viewed as not for sale by those at Ibrox.

This news comes just days after Fenerbahce have shown interest in Beto.

The Turkish outfit are now scrambling for striker options as they face the prospect of selling Youssef En-Nesyri.

Ironically, Everton have shown an interest in En-Nesyri, but it seems a difficult deal to manage on a personal terms level.

Late striker movement on the cards for Everton

During his weekly column for Everton News, Alan Myers suggested Beto may leave Everton before the end of the window.

However, no exit can be sanctioned for Beto without a replacement.

Everton are already light in quality and strength in depth up front and allowing one of the two senior strikers to depart would be a huge risk.

Moyes admitted Everton may not sign a player in January and any deals now are going to be done right at the end of the window.
