Everton in the market for a goalscoring midfielder.

When he rejoined the club in January, David Moyes made it clear that he wants to sign a Maroune Fellaini-type player.

As such, Everton brought Carlos Alcaraz to the club, but, that transfer hasn’t really taken off like he’d have hoped.

So, there are now strong rumours that Tomas Soucek could make the switch to Everton this summer transfer window.

Tomas Soucek is unhappy about his lack of game time recently and is tempted to reunite with Moyes on Merseyside.

With that said, West Ham United fans have now been reacting to that news on social media, and they’re all in agreement.

West Ham United fans really want to keep Tomas Soucek amid Everton interest

West Ham fans have made it very clear that they’d love to keep Soucek and would even offer him improved terms to fend off interest from Everton.

@marcus8671 posted: “I would keep him, offer a new deal, loves the club, gives his all, scores valuable goals – no brainer?”

@linkylionel added: “Give him a deal he’s our main man.”

“Soucek is the type of player we need at this club you know why because he cares about West Ham, just give him the increase,” @englishyardie commented.

“He loves this club and we won’t get a lot for him we may as well just keep him,” @WHU_alfie said.

@James1327White posted: “GIVE HIM THE F—— CONTRACT. May not be the greatest footballer but will always pop up with important goals and actually plays for the badge unlike half the team.”

“Wouldn’t be selling him unless we get £25 mill + might not be the best player but chips in with goals .. our cbs don’t score our other cms don’t score with Kudus etc potentially leaving his goals could be even more vital next season,” @willearle_ added.

Everton should recruit younger players

It’s understood the Friedkin Group are planning to reduce the average age of Everton’s squad this summer.

The Toffees currently have the third-oldest average age in the Premier League, so they should be recruiting young talent, rather than the 30-year-old Soucek.

Everton have been eyeing teenage midfielder Chris Rigg, who’s enjoyed a sensational season in the Championship with Sunderland.

Young defender Maxime Esteve is also on Moyes’ radar, so clearly the club are looking to add young players to their squad.
