Everton are closing in on another off-field appointment under The Friedkin Group’s ownership.
There have been considerable changes made at Everton following the takeover which went through in the latter stages of December.
The Friedkins have already appointed Marc Watts as the executive chairman and they are continuing to eye changes to the board.
David Moyes has marked the biggest arrival on Merseyside with the return of the 61-year-old really turning around the club’s fortunes.
However, the new owners are looking for continued progression ahead of what is going to be a big summer for the club.
Everton are expected to hire Angus Kinnear from Leeds United, and he has already commented on Jack Harrison’s loan to Merseyside.

What Angus Kinnear said about Jack Harrison joining Everton
Harrison left Moyes frustrated against Brentford with his crossing leaving a lot to be desired against the Bees.
Kinnear has now been at Leeds since 2017, so he will have gotten to know Harrison well during their time together in Yorkshire.
Speaking on The Square Ball podcast back in 2023, Kinnear did, however, admit he was shocked to see the winger leave Leeds to join a struggling Everton on loan.
“From my perspective going on loan to Everton with the predicament Everton are in, versus staying at Leeds and getting them promoted, there is a valid choice to make there, and we were surprised,” he said.
“At the time, to secure Jack Harrison on a new contract with a wage reduction if we went down, those were the types of things that were in place.”
Harrison’s Everton future remains uncertain as his current loan deal is set to expire at the end of the season.
It has not been the 2024/25 term that the winger would have hoped for as he has failed to provide a single-goal contribution in the league.

Harrison wants a permanent Everton contract
It has been a hugely underwhelming season for the 28-year-old, but Harrison wants to earn a permanent stay at Everton.
There have been some more promising signs from the Leeds loanee under Moyes.
However, his lack of returns in front of goal has to be a major concern for all on Merseyside with Everton having struggled massively this season going forward.
| 24/25 Premier League | Total |
|---|---|
| Appearances (starts) | 23 (15) |
| Minutes | 1338 |
| Goals | 0 |
| Assists | 0 |
Everton fans have been frustrated by Harrison and it is hardly surprising when it is soon to be March and the player is still waiting on his first goal or assist in the Premier League.
With big changes heading in Everton’s direction this summer, it will be interesting to see how Kinnear’s expected arrival will affect Harrison’s future.
