Everton have been handed an unexpected curveball over the last few days.
The Friedkins are sanctioning considerable changes on Merseyside as they look to mould Everton to their own ways.
Dan Friedkin was handed the keys to Goodison Park back in January and a lot of change has already been approved by the American.
Kevin Thelwell is leaving for Rangers at the end of the season as the Blues completely transform their recruitment system.
This was expected as the 51-year-old was coming to the end of his contract on Merseyside and TFG did not look to renew it.
However, head of recruitment Dan Purdy is now set to leave Everton in what was an unexpected twist for the new owners.

Whether Dan Purdy will leave Everton for Rangers
Ally McCoist has admitted he’d love to see Thelwell bring Sean Dyche to Rangers over the summer as they look for their next permanent boss.
It is believed Thelwell and Purdy have a strong relationship following their time together at Goodison.
However, The Athletic have suggested the chances of the 31-year-old recruitment specialist following Thelwell to Ibrox is unlikely.
It is expected that Purdy will be signing with another club before the new season begins, though.
But the 31-year-old is looking to move on to another challenge and is viewed by some as an ‘undervalued talent’ on Merseyside.
Everton are looking to bring in Nick Hammond and Gary Penrice with Angus Kinnear already set to recruit with some of his Leeds United colleagues.
A lot of work needs to be done on Merseyside to put together the new recruitment system, this is not what the Friedkins had in mind, though.
Everton need to act quick to Dan Purdy development
David Moyes and Everton’s chiefs have already discussed transfers, but this was not in the script for the Friedkins.
Everton are set to lose someone who was very highly regarded at the club in a period where they are changing the people around him.
But the new Everton owners will be looking to bounce back quickly from the setback.
The Friedkins are ready to back Everton financially but that could only increase the pressure on those making the decisions on transfers.
Purdy will temporarily be replaced by those who were working below him at the club, but the Friedkins want to make a quick appointment.
