Everton are believed to be in the running to sign Bayern Munich left-back Adam Aznou.

The Toffees are getting set to jet off to the United States over the coming days for the Summer Series tournament.

David Moyes wanted to see more signings made before the club took off for the States, but it looks as if Everton’s squad is set for the flight across the pond.

Following numerous exits as free agents in June, there are still a lot of holes in the Everton squad that need filling.

Moyes is desperate to add a new full-back, with Vitaliy Mykolenko remaining his only senior option at left-back.

This could soon change as Everton eye a move for Aznou from Bayern Munich, but recent comments from their CEO could suggest otherwise.

What Max Eberl said about Everton target Adam Aznou

With his future hanging in the balance, Aznou has admitted he’d leave Bayern if he were to be offered more regular minutes.

This is a player who had to depart the Allianz Arena earlier this year to find some playing time over in Spain with Real Valladolid.

Speaking to the club’s media channels, Bayern’s CEO Max Eberl has shared his admiration for the 19-year-old defender.

“We think very highly of Adam, he’s a huge talent,” said Eberl to Bayern’s website.

“We’re glad that he’s arrived in the professional game and now played his first match. He has incredibly big potential.”

It would appear Everton are prioritising a new left-back over a right-back, with Jake O’Brien admitting he is ready to play out of position again this season.

Aznou is clearly a player who those at Bayern rate very highly, whether the Toffees could prise him away from the club whose hierarchy rate him so highly.

But if they could, then the Blues would have a player who is very highly rated by one of Europe’s true powerhouses.

Aznou could be the perfect choice for Everton

Following the player’s comments on his future at Bayern, it is apparent he is hungry for regular minutes.

With Alphonso Davies returning from injury, it is difficult to imagine Aznou could make a huge impact on the starting XI in Munich.

Everton are pleased with Mykolenko, but the Toffees will be all too aware that one senior left-back is not a viable option heading into the new season.

A hungry, young left-back could be the perfect backup option for Mykolenko, who will be pushed for his spot in the starting XI.
